Wine Rocks Set to Rock Seattle’s Elliott Hall at Pier 66

Taste the wine, hear the music and help the cause at the 5th annual Wine Rocks July 11

Wine Rocks Seattle, an annual event that goes beyond the traditional wine tasting, is back for a fifth year and it’s bigger than ever. This year’s event takes place Wednesday, July 11, 6-10 p,m. at Elliott Hall at Pier 66 overlooking Puget Sound. More than 35 Washington wineries, breweries and distilleries will be on hand at the event. To pair with your wine, a handful of local food trucks, including Marination Mobile, Sweet Wheels and Tokyo Dog, will be serving guests right on the pier.

“I created Wine Rocks in 2008 as an open house event for Gibson Guitars to bring publicity to their showroom,” said Jen Doak, founder of Wine Rocks Seattle. “I suggested that they bring in a few local winery owners who also love strumming their guitars. The concept was a huge hit and Wine Rocks has grown every year since.”

Throughout the evening select Washington winemakers and friends will take the stage to share their passion for music. This year’s featured bands include:

  • The Wicker Rhinos – Paul Gregutt (wine writer) and Larry Davidson (sommelier)
  • The Raven & The Fox – Chip McLaughlin (Vinyl Wines) and Mari Gisele
  • Turbo Grape Mashers – Gordy Rawson (Chatter Creek Cellars)
  • Shelly & the Curves
  • Soul Jelly

“As the wine industry continues to flourish, Wine Rocks provides wineries a relaxed, fun and non-traditional opportunity at connecting with their consumers and creating new relationships,” said Doak.
This year’s Wine Rocks event benefits The Giving Grapes Foundation, a 501c3 organization that assists local charities who provide financial assistance to service industry professionals who have to take time off work due to injury or illness.
