The barter will be the main event, starting with set-up at 11am and finishing at 1pm. The community is invited to bring produce, eggs, honey, seeds, plants, tools, canned goods, baked goods, promises of a helping hand in the kitchen or garden, or mentoring skills to barter with others. The only rules for the barter are no money exchange and have fun!
This FREE event is being made possible thanks to the Climate Action Now grant from the City of Seattle’s Office of Sustainability and Environment.
Fabulous prizes will be awarded for the winning pie and jam and runners-up as determined by our “celebrity” judges. There is a $5 per entry fee to enter the jam and pie contests; entries must be accompanied by the recipe and received by noon. Prizes will also be raffled off periodically through the day, including a $100 nursery gift certificate, free deliveries from New Roots Organics, garden consultations, gifts from Theo Chocolate, free gym memberships and more!

About Backyard Barter
Backyard Barter is a community where neighbors barter locally-produced food and related items and skills, including seedlings, eggs, extra produce, canned goods, the use of garden tools, expertise in garden design and construction, or a helping hand with food-related projects. Backyard Barter is a fiscally-sponsored project of Seattle Tilth. Backyard Barter offers online bartering at backyardbarter.org and monthly in-person barter events.
