Chefs include Tom Douglas, Ethan Stowell, John Sundstrom, Sabrina Tinsley, Holly Smith and Teatro ZinZanni chef Erik Carlson

Teatro ZinZanni today unveiled plans to honor their 15-year anniversary of “Love, Chaos and Dinner” on November 21, 2013 with a special engagement entitledBIG NIGHT featuring a multi-course feast curated by some of the most celebrated chefs of the Pacific Northwest. Culinary icons Tom Douglas of Dahlia Lounge, Etta’s, and many others; Ethan Stowell of Ethan Stowell Restaurants, Sabrina Tinsley of La Spiga; John Sundstrom of Lark; Holly Smith of Café Juanita; and Teatro ZinZanni Chef Erik Carlson will reveal their fall feast menu in the coming weeks.

The magical evening will also pay a special musical tribute to Teatro ZinZanni music director and composer of 15 years, the visionary Norman Durkee. Throughout Durkee’s impressive career he has collaborated with and directed theatrical productions with distinguished celebrities like Ann Wilson, Sally Kellerman, Thelma Houston, Tommy Tune, and Bette Midler. He was a piano-playing prodigy and got his first break with Seattle Opera’s youth program where he created a touring “opera” for kids with director Arne Zaslove. Durkee’s work includes 18 ballets, 32 chamber works, and commercials for Boeing, Nike®, Coca-Cola®, and many other corporations. For years he has been recognized for his virtuosic talents on piano, with a top credit for prominent piano accompaniment played by Durkee in the original studio version of “Takin’ Care of Business” by Bachman-Turner Overdrive II, recorded at Kaye-Smith Studios in Seattle, Washington.

With great pleasure, Teatro ZinZanni will honor Norm Durkee on this special night with a musical tribute by a surprise celebrity guest and dazzling performances from world famous circus performers.
