Dot’s Butcher & Deli Set to Open in Seattle’s Historic Pike Place Market

Do you long for the days of being able to walk into your neighborhood butcher shop and get quality meat with a side of local flavor? Are you still on the hunt for the greatest sandwich Seattle has to offer? Do you love charcuterie and cured meats? Are you tired of bearded hipsters slinging your salami? If the answer to any of these questions is ‘Yes’, then you’ll be happy to learn that Dot’s Butcher & Deli is opening in Pike Place Market on Thursday, July 14th.

That’s right – you heard it here first. Chef/Owner Miles James is bringing back the old school butcher shop concept as well as some of the greatest hits from the original Dot’s. Not only will customers be able to get some of the finest meat available this side of the Cascades, but they’ll also be privy to all manner of terrines, fresh sausage and bacon. Yes. Bacon.

Craving beautiful steaks, chops and tenderloin? Dot’s has it. Making rabbit stew? Dot’s can get that. Want a perfect, pasture raised chicken for Coq au Vin? That’ll be there too.

In addition to practicing whole-animal butchery in house, James will be serving up some damned good sandwiches on a daily basis. Bring on the meat parade with the Porchetta, the Meatballs, the Cheesesteak and the Corned Beef – all available daily. Add a few classic sides, including a salad made with pasta from Il Corvo, and you’ll likely have found the finest lunch that money can buy in the Market.

Quick facts about Dot’s:

  • A wide selection of beef, pork and chicken will fill the case
  • Game and other meats will be available via special order
  • Meat will be sourced primarily from Heritage Meats out of Rochester, WA working with Northwest growers including Jerry Foster, Pure Country and Hawley Ranch
  • An array of house-made charcuterie including Pâtés, terrines and fresh sausage will be on offer
  • Four different sandwiches with sides will be available daily from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. with specials making an appearance on a frequent basis

Dot’s Butcher and Deli will take the place of the former BB Ranch spot in the Sanitary Market just off of First Avenue and Pike Street. Lunch will be served daily featuring the standards as well as rotating specials whenever Miles feels the urge to create something new. Come in, sit at the counter, and eat the best sandwich in town.
