Habit Burger to Open First Pierce County Location on February 14

New restaurant will celebrate with charity events benefitting USO Northwest and Nourish Pierce County along with free burger days ahead of the official grand opening

The Habit was named the “best tasting burger in America” in July 2014 in a comprehensive survey conducted by one of America’s leading consumer magazines.

After opening four successful locations since November 2015, The Habit Burger Grill continues to build momentum and expand throughout Washington state with the opening of its newest location in the Westgate North Shopping Center at 2601 N Pearl St. in Tacoma on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

The Tacoma area community can get a preview of The Habit Burger Grill’s fresh, made-to-order items, including the award-winning Charburger among other flavorful menu items during Free Burger Days and fundraising events prior to the official grand opening.

The Habit will partner with two local non-profits, USO Northwest and Nourish Pierce County, for the fundraising events. Each will receive 100 percent of the proceeds raised at their respective events to put towards their amazing causes. The events are open to the public and provide a sneak peek into what the restaurant will offer guests before The Habit officially opens its doors on Valentine’s Day. Those unable to attend the charity events can still get a taste of The Habit during the Free Burger Days.

The full line up of events includes:

  • Free Burger Days – Saturday, Feb. 10, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 11, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Get a pre-opening sneak peak of the newest location and enjoy a free 100 percent fresh ground beef, chargrilled burger piled high with all the fixings, plus French fries and a regular beverage. Offer is limited to the first 200 people during each time period.

  • Fundraising Event with USO Northwest – Sunday, Feb. 11, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

The USO Northwest supports America’s military service members and their families throughout the states of Washington and Oregon by providing help to those who need it the most including military deploying overseas and returning home, military families, wounded warriors and their families and families of the fallen. With the help of more than 600 volunteers, it serves more than 750,000 military and their families each year.

  • Fundraising Event with Nourish Pierce County – Tuesday, Feb. 13, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Nourish Pierce County provides nutritious food and support services to nearly 46,000 people each month in the Tacoma area with compassion, dignity and respect. For every $1 donated, the food bank can distribute more than $7 worth of nutritious food.

The Habit’s menu features items such as the Charburger, a fresh 100 percent fresh ground beef patty chargrilled over an open flame and served with fresh tomato, caramelized onions, mayonnaise, pickle and lettuce on a toasted bun, along with the Portabella Char, Teriyaki Char, BBQ Bacon Char and Santa Barbara Char which includes fresh avocado and is served on sourdough bread. Seafood lovers can enjoy the widely popular Chargrilled Tuna, a sandwich complete with a line-caught, sushi-grade Ahi tuna steak. Other can’t miss items include salads like the Santa Barbara Cobb or the Superfood Salad with baby kale, quinoa, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, Craisins® and feta cheese. On the side, guests can order French fries, onion rings, sweet potato fries or tempura green beans accompanied by a variety of handcrafted shakes and malts. No need to stop there, guests can continue layering on the flavor by selecting additional toppers from the complimentary condiment bar, which features an assortment of peppers, limes, lemons and a range of sauces for added kick. All menu items are made-to-order using fresh ingredients.

The Habit Burger Grill currently operates more than 205 restaurants across 11 states, coast to coast, and welcomes the newest 2,607 sq. ft. Tacoma location, which seats 84 guests inside and 14 outside. The restaurant is the fifth of the Washington franchise, with several additional locations set to roll out across the state before 2020.

The Habit Burger Grill is open Monday – Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
