I thought it would be helpful for our readers if we shared a bit of information on how the rating system on our site works.
Restaurants are rated based on their ambiance, cleanliness, location, service, and of course, food. All of these category scores are combined to form an average, overall rating. The food rating is itself an average of the ratings on plates that have been tasted, which are determined by the presentation, taste, and fairness of price.
Generally speaking, any rating above a 5/10 means that the category is satisfied in an acceptable fashion and most restaurants will find that their ratings are in the 6-8/10 range. Ratings above 8/10 are very good, and ratings that reach 10/10 are nearly impossible to get.
If we feel the need to justify a rating, we will usually add a comment below it to explain why the restaurant got the score that it did.
