Ballard— The MurrayAid fundraising campaign has made some serious traction, and there is still much cash needed to get legendary barman, Murray Stenson, the heart surgery he needs.

Last April when Ethan and Angela Stowell launched Eat.Run.Hope they received an overwhelming amount of support from the restaurant community. They are honored to have the opportunity to help another member of the restaurant community.

Chef Stowell will host the first of three dinners in The Cellar Room at Staple & Fancy Mercantile on Wednesday November 14. Once the November 14 dinner is full, a dinner on Wednesday, November 21 will open up, followed by a third dinner on Wednesday, November 28.

Canon’s Jamie Boudreau is onboard to create a few specialty cocktails for the reception. Mark McNeilly of Mark Ryan Winery and Trey Busch of Sleight of Hand Cellars are generously donating wine for the dinners. Stowell and chef Branden Karow will create a family-style meal along the lines of the “fancy” menu served at the restaurant. Guests can look forward to six or seven first courses, followed by a pasta course, meat course, and dessert.

The Cellar Room is a private event space below Staple & Fancy that accommodates 18 guests at one large table and has an intimate reception area with bar. The evening will begin with a reception at 6:30pm followed by a family-style dinner at 7:30pm. Cost is $100/person and reservations are required. For reservations, please email info@ethanstowellrestaurants.com or call the main office at 206.588.0030.

All proceeds from the dinners benefit MurrayAid. To learn more or to make a donation, visit www.murrayaid.org.
