JOEY Restaurants Unveils Flagship Location in Seattle, WA at the University Village

JOEY Kitchen to Serve as Official US Test Kitchen

JOEY Restaurant Group today unveiled JOEY Kitchen at University Village, its new Seattle flagship location and official US Test Kitchen. Part of the newly-expanded University Village Shopping Center, the restaurant offers new Test Kitchen menu items served only at this location, a Barrel Fresh wine-on-tap program and a warm and inviting atmosphere to create the JOEY experience for diners and shoppers alike.

“We have been scouting the perfect location for our Seattle flagship restaurant for quite some time and we are thrilled to have partnered with University Village as we see this impressive shopping centre as a great fit for our brand,” says Jeff Fuller, President, JOEY Restaurant Group. “Shoppers will have the chance to enjoy the Pacific North West’s top luxury retail destination, combined with the world class casual dining experience we create for our guests.”

As the official Test Kitchen for US operations, the JOEY Kitchen menu includes a variety of new and signature dishes developed by Executive Chef, Chris Mills, who combines his classic culinary training with a passion for travel to inspire new flavors. Guests can begin with the Beef Carpaccio, garnished with Tuscan kale, dijon aioli, capers, new crop olives and Grana Padano, followed by The 500, a super-food salad with organic quinoa, barley, plenty of raw vegetables, watermelon radish, almonds, mint, parsley, avocado and less than 500 calories. The Duck & Chicken Clubhouse, with duck, chicken, crispy prosciutto, teriyaki, butter lettuce on fruit nut bread and Housemade Veggie Burger with organic brown rice, arugula, almonds and jack cheese are also great choices. The Key Lime Pie is a delicious ending to the meal, made from scratch with Key Lime juice direct from Key West and Tahitian vanilla whipped cream.

“We are really excited to open our Test Kitchen concept in such a vibrant city with a great food culture,” says Chef Chris Mills. “We travel the world to source new ingredients, flavors and preparation techniques that inspire new menu items and we look forward to bringing the best of these flavors to the city of Seattle.”

From behind the bar, guests can enjoy JOEY’s signature cocktails, such as the Super Sonic Gin and Tonic, Super Nova Vodka Soda and Classic Old Fashioned, alongside the new, Barrel Fresh wine-on-tap program, which pours a selection of reds and whites from Washington and Oregon. Barrel Fresh uses the TORR keg system which keeps wine fresh and lively in an oxygen free environment until the very moment that a glass of wine is poured. This allows the wine to be served at its optimal freshness and perfection, just as the winemaker intended.

This new addition is the third JOEY location in Seattle, boasting an open concept layout that gives guests a view to the heart of the kitchen from any of its 154 seats. Two specially trained sushi chefs are stationed at the kitchen’s custom sushi bar, where guests can watch them craft the signature JOEY Sushi Cone and Rainbow Roll. Outside, the two large, outdoor patios host seating for up to 65 guests and provide an outdoor dining experience nearly all year round with a retractable canopy for sunny days and glass partitions to protect against the cold during winter months.

JOEY Kitchen at University Village is located at 2603 NE 46th Street, Seattle, WA, 98105–5041.
