Opening Soon: Chippy’s Fish & Drink Coming to Ballard Ave

Ethan Stowell’s Fish & Chips Joint to Open in March

Ethan Stowell’s beloved Staple & Fancy Mercantile is getting a lively new neighbor— Chippy’s Fish & Drink is slated to open this March in the former Dutch Bike Co. coffee shop in The Kolstrand Building. Chef Stowell’s new spot will serve classic fish and chips along with other old-school seaside specialties.

Chippy’s Fish & Drink “A Great Plaice to Eat,”—plaice referencing a group of flat fish, like flounder, that are often found on menus in the UK—will bring another great eating option to the south end of Ballard Ave.

The menu will include a variety of fish and chips options, as well as chowders, salads (when’s the last time you had a great Shrimp Louie?), sandwiches, dips, and sides.

The 600-square-foot space will offer table seating for about 18 guests, plus eight spots at the bar. Guests can enjoy eight rotating beers on tap, as well as a full bar. Chippy’s Fish & Drink will be open daily from 5pm to 11pm.

Chippy’s Fish & Drink is located at 4741 Ballard Ave NW in Seattle, Washington.
