Beers For Books at King’s Hardware

Have you ever sat back at the end of a long day sippin’ on a cold one and thought, “wow, this is nice, but I really wish I could be supporting international literacy with this beer?” Probably not. But on June 4th from 7 to 10pm, King’s Hardware, Lowercase Brewing and Fremont Brewing Company are making this frothy, philanthropic daydream a reality!

Kick back and enjoy a delicious pint (or a pitcher) from Lowercase or Fremont Brewing Company and feel good about your life choices knowing that all proceeds will benefit Room to Read: a totally-swell organization devoted to literacy and gender equality in education.

Beer not really your speed? A dollar from your King’s Lemonade will go to the same organization, so, no worries. Totally sober? No need to call your sponsor (unless they’re great at skeeball), because Room to Read is selling raffle tickets all night with some super sweet and totally-not-boozy prizes.

All donations from the evening will go to Room to Read’s Local Language Publishing Program — producing treasured books for kids in places like Nepal, Cambodia, Laos and South Africa. If we can raise $1,500, that’s 1500 books for kids that totally need them. Keep on drinking that beer and fighting the good fight!
