Celebrate 60 years of diner goodness with Beth’s Cafe!

On Monday, June 2, 2014, Beth’s Café will kick-off their weeklong 60th Anniversary celebration with a blast-to- the-past, featuring 50s priced food, quirky contests and mid-century revelry. The celebration begins bright-and-early at 6 a.m. Monday, June 2. This marks the beginning of the drawing competition and 1950s menu insert, and will be a day dedicated to giving back to the community. The café will be donating a portion of Monday’s profits to Treehouse, a local nonprofit caring for foster children that Beth’s has been involved with for several years. 
Beth’s Café is well known for its pre-grubbing ritual, and to celebrate that tradition they are running a competition for the artistically-inclined. Folks are encouraged to put their creativity to the test and draw images that represent the spirit of Beth’s. Drawings must include the terms Beth’s Café, 60th Anniversary or 1954-2014. The drawing contest will run for a week, allowing the community’s top contenders to compete for the grand prize. The winner takes home a $50 Beth’s gift certificate, a 60th anniversary t-shirt and FAME! Stay tuned…the winner will be announced Monday, June 9. 
Throughout the celebration, Beth’s will offer a special 1950s menu insert filled with your favorite diner dishes at dirt-cheap prices. Each day a new item will be available…come prepared to chow down and save a few bucks. 
On Saturday, June 7, 2014, Beth’s will throw a 50s-themed party to celebrate its birthday and reminisce on the good ol’ days. Guests are encouraged to show up at 8:30 p.m. in their best 50s getup. Do it up big because there is a prize for the best-dressed. Following the announcement of the winner, folks are invited to the after-party at the Duck Island Ale House’s Duck Prom next door…where the fun will continue with a photo booth and cocktails. This year’s theme…you guessed it, 1950s! We hope you come party with us to celebrate 60 years of diner goodness…the festivities will wrap up on Sunday, June 8 at 2 p.m.
