Fireside is officially open in Downtown Burien

Co-owners Jose Betancourt, Matthew Pontious, and Executive Chef Tyler Rebman have announced the opening of their newest restaurant and first joint venture – Fireside, located in the heart of downtown Burien. The 2,500 square foot space offers a Midwest 70’s vibe alongside handcrafted comfort food, and a solid selection of drinks.

The menu has something for everyone with a starter section including the likes of shrimp cocktail, Swedish meatballs, a smoked salmon tray, and pretzel, kielbasa, and beer cheese. In the “Baskets” section you’ll find the classic smash burger, an Oklahoma onion burger, a fried Walleye sandwich, and more. Main courses include Midwest darlings such as Salisbury steak, Tater tot casserole, Walleye Supper club fish fry, and Cincinnati chili. Diners will also find loaded baked potatoes, a signature salad from Matt and Tyler’s hometown Rockford, Ill., French onion soup, and a dessert menu that includes Puddin’ cake and Key Lime pie. 

The space seats 75 and offers additional bar seating for 13. Expect to see weekend brunch on the menu soon and outdoor seating for up to 40 Spring of 2022.

“We’re so excited to be opening a space in Burien, we’ve been fans of the neighborhood for a while and are looking forward to serving the community here,” said Pontious. “Our goal was to create a place we’d like to hang out that provides quality approachable food, good drinks, and great service.”

An extensive bar program features throwback signature cocktails such as the Brandy Alexander and frozen Harvey Walbangers, next to Milwaukee Old Fashions and a Minnesota Martini (translation: shot of Old Crow and a High Life). For true Chicagoans Fireside stocks Malort and has created a few specialty Malort based cocktails. The beer set up consists of an on-tap selection of local IPA’s and Pilsners, including an original Fireside IPA in collaboration with Burien locals, Logan Brewing, and all the fan favorites offered in cans and bottles straight from the vintage 1940’s ice-cold fridge. Wine is served by the glass from wine makers in Washington, California, Spain, and Italy. 

Fireside is located at 15212 6th Ave SW Burien, WA, and open Tuesday – Thursday 4pm-11pm, Friday 4pm – midnight, Saturday 10:00am – midnight, Sunday 10:00am – 9:00pm.
