Backed by Conscious Hospitality Group, Sano Expands with Intention, Prioritizing Organic, House-made and Non-Processed Ingredients, Microplastic-Free Packaging, and Thoughtful Choices
SEATTLE – June 18, 2025 – Sano, the Mercer Island favorite for organic house-made juices, smoothies, elixirs, and nutritious meals, opens its first of three new locations today in Downtown Bellevue at 453 106th Ave E. With additional planned openings in July for Downtown Kirkland and Downtown Redmond, Sano is growing a new kind of fast-casual healthy eating experience built on radical transparency, organic integrity, and the belief that eating well is essential to feeling good and long-term health.

Backed by Conscious Hospitality Group (CHG), a Seattle-based hospitality investor specializing in scaling purpose-driven concepts, and in continued partnership with founder Lisa Nordstrom, Sano is deepening its mission to transform food systems by educating consumers and setting a new standard for what we eat and drink, and why it matters.
“We believe in the power of food as fuel, knowing that it affects every part of our wellbeing from energy levels to inflammation to long-term health,” said Norman Wu, CEO/Founder of Conscious Hospitality Group. “At Sano, every choice we make is intentional, traceable, and mindfully selected. While we know it won’t be perfect from day one, we strive to get close and in the process, create a movement of empowered people who play a role in improving our macro food systems by simply choosing better.”
At a time when people confuse convenient brands for “healthy” brands, Sano aims to bring clarity and depth. Nearly 80% of menu items are made in-house, including nutrient-packed dressings, protein bites and balls, syrups, and plant-based milks.
Wu continues, “Not all smoothies are created equally – one can be nourishing while the other is filled with artificial sugars and synthetic ingredients. I’ve seen many brands that customers think are healthy but in reality use ingredients that are not healthy at all.”
Menu standards for all Sano cafés include:
- 100% organic produce and fruit used in juices, smoothies, salads, and acai bowls
- 100% organic and pesticide-free coffee beans and milk
- Almost 100% seed oil-free, striving to achieve this by year-end
- Wild salmon, grass-fed beef, and pasture-raised eggs
- Housemade organic alt-milks and syrups
- Spring water across all beverage prep
- Glass bottles and fiber containers to avoid microplastic exposure
- Hot coffee cups with no plastic lining, sourced from Sofi Products for sustainability and toxin-free safety
To celebrate its Bellevue opening, the cafe will host weeklong special events, including complimentary mini smoothies, wellness workshops, and a community day to host Bellevue first responders for complimentary meals
Sano’s menu offers delicious, nutritious meals packed with superfoods and nutrient-rich options crafted by the company’s certified nutritionist. Its menu features favorites alongside new items, including:
- Pasture Raised Protein-Powered Boxes like roast salmon, paired with avocado, black rice, nori, and yuzu ginger cucumber
- Organic Signature Bowls, including antioxidant-rich organic acai topped with strawberries, banana, and blueberries
- Housemade Toasts such as house-made hummus, cucumbers, sesame seeds, cilantro, olive oil, and radish
- Organic Artisan Soups & Salads like Ginger Sesame with romaine, cabbage, radish, carrots, cucumbers, scallions, avocado, cilantro, almonds, nori, and sesame miso dressing
- Cold-Pressed Juices, Smoothies & Elixirs featuring raw, organic cold-pressed juices from fruits and vegetables, alongside specialty wellness drinks
- Organic Coffee from Cafe Vita introduces drinks like a Honeycomb Latte, Blackberry Vanilla Espresso Spritz, and Sano Super Latte, boosted with adaptogens
Each Sano location is meticulously designed, from the hand-picked natural materials to the ambient lighting chosen to inspire comfort and creativity. The space blends organic textures with modern aesthetics, creating a serene atmosphere that invites guests to slow down and savor the moment. Intentional seating arrangements cater to intimate conversations and solo relaxation, making Sano a true sanctuary in the heart of the city. With its focus on design, quality, and intentionality, Sano redefines the café experience, striving to create a modern social hub for guests.
Lisa Nordstrom will continue to advise Sano as it scales, sharing her expertise in nutrition and menu development. “Lisa is a trailblazer, bringing a healthy food concept to life before it was mainstream,” closed Wu. “She continues to play an important role in connecting food and wellbeing, creating a space for community and planting a seed for the movement Sano is becoming.”
CHG’s portfolio includes other mission-driven concepts like Matcha Magic, Just Poké, Mt. Joy, Wonderbowl, Sugo Hand Roll Bar, EatDirt, Club Seltzer, and more.
Sano Bellevue is open seven days a week from 8:00am – 4:00pm Monday – Friday, and 9:00am – 4:00pm Saturday and Sunday. High-resolution images of the new Sano are available HERE.
