“Our latest shop is truly a sign of the times, and a boon to the increasingly style-conscious men of Seattle,” says founder and CEO Fokke de Jong. “Twenty years ago, the cool guys were walking around with plaid flannel shirts tied around their waists. Now they’re more likely to be rocking an impeccably made check sportcoat.”
In typical Suitsupply fashion, the new 3,800-square-foot shop is almost as stylish as the collection. Located in the ground floor of an iconic modernist building on Fifth Avenue downtown, the light-drenched space is brimming with the Amsterdam-based label’s signature bright colors and bold graphics, and serves as a compelling backdrop for its rich, textured Fall/Winter collection. It’s also the kind of place that Seattle men will be able to stroll into, grab an espresso (this is Seattle, after all), try on a few suits, and walk out with a perfectly tailored new look, thanks to the shop’s tailoring bar, which — as with all Suitsupply boutiques — is located front and center, ready to perform alterations in minutes.
In addition to its signature modern take on tailoring, the new shop is well stocked with Suitsupply’s ever-expanding footwear and accessory collections, as well as plenty of locally appropriate outerwear. “Function is the foundation of men’s fashion,” adds de Jong. “And, while suits are our sustenance, we expect our trenches and pea coats to do especially well.”
“Well, it’s official. We’ve fallen for Suitsupply’s unmistakable brand of cool (at prices thet will keep your credit card in similar shape).”
