Gordon Biersch Welcomes Spring with Maibock Lager

Restaurant to host beer tapping parties to celebrate the launch of its seasonal offerings
Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant will welcome Spring on April 16 with the release of Maibock, a strong Einbeck-style lager with a warming caramel malt goodness and noble Hersbrucker hops, and a featured pairing menu. The beer will be available through May 25 or until supply runs out.

To introduce the seasonal celebration, Gordon Biersch will host a tapping party for Maibock, a lager that’s known as the “Rite of Spring” in the beer world and named for the month of Mai. The party is open to the public and attendees can taste the beer plus sample items from the pairing menu.
The featured pairing menu includes a Fried Calamari starter (seasoned and lightly fried, served with marinara and wasabi dip), a Strawberry Cheesecake dessert (New York-style cheesecake topped with strawberry sauce) and four entrées:
  • Gorgonzola Pear Salad: Pecan crusted chicken over mixed greens tossed in balsamic vinaigrette, with fresh pear and gorgonzola cheese.
  • Housemade Tacos: Choice of Lobster & Shrimp tacos with a housemade citrus sauce or Cajun Fish tacos with a spicy remoulade. Served with black beans and rice.
  • Cajun Pasta: Andouille sausage, chicken and shrimp sautéed with Louisiana spices and Cajun cream sauce, tossed with linguine.
  • Flame Grilled New York Strip: 14 oz. New York strip with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.

Also on the featured menu is the refreshing Champagne Mojito, a classic Bacardi Limon mojito of muddled fresh mint, limes and sugar, topped with a splash of champagne.
