Q Nightclub Announces Lynchpins of Weekly Musical Lineup, Happy Hour

CAPITOL HILL— Q Nightclub opens on September 8 and is hitting the ground running. Q creative director, Kevin Kauer (aka DJ Nark), has secured top- notch DJs and scheduled Q for standout events. The Q events calendar will be ever evolving and can be found at www.qcapitolhill.com.

Recess is the founder of Shameless Productions and has an illustrious tenure in the underground music scene of Seattle. Recess’ DJ sets often reflect Shameless’ aesthetic by focusing on forward thinking music while cherishing the gems of the past. He’ll span the various ranges of house/disco music and may weave through techno, bass, and funky, depending upon the party.

Saturday Nights: The Q Playground  – Deep, down, and dirty Saturday nights like you’ve never experienced before with resident selector and Q creative director, DJ Nark. DJ Nark: “All things Nark” (a.k.a. Kevin Kauer) come from the need to share and expose, and he’s been doing so at parties around the nation, hip to hip with the finest musicians and record selectors around, such as In Flagranti, Jacques Renault, Honey Sound System, Victor Rodriguez, Juanita More, DJ Assault, House of Stank, and many more. His constant drive to send a dance floor through space keeps a flowing stream of deep house, classic club, and post-modern disco at your feet, just waiting to tango.

Sunday: Revival – Q is going back to a club-classic daytime tea dance featuring the legendary and definitive higher soulful power of musical guru Riz Rollins (KEXP) and weekly special guests. Come burn off your brunch with Papa Riz, who will have full reign to hold court — soul, disco, electronic dance music and whatever else gets people on the dance floor. Dancing 3pm. Cover: $3. Drink specials. *Chris Tower (C89.5) takes over the decks from 9pm – close.

A man who needs no introduction, sometimes it feels as if everyone in Seattle has been on Riz’s dance floor at least once. “DJ Riz plays more than songs and tracks, he spins the night on Earth. He’s a mystic. A conductor, direttore, a connector.” – Trent Moorman, The Stranger.
To keep the vibe intimate, Q has the ability to create a lounge space by closing a lighted scrim that separates the dance floor from the main back bar in the early evening during the week. A second DJ loft will host an array of DJ talent.

Monday: The Q Soft Landing – Q’s soft landing to the never-ending weekend.  Resident selectors Erin O’Connor and Riff-Raff (Bottom Forty) create an intimate lounge and social experience all night long in conjunction with seductive vibes of downbeat nu-disco, lounge, space cosmos, and more.  Happy hour 5pm – close.
