Father’s Day at Volunteer Park Cafe

Ericka Burke and the Volunteer Park Cafe crew are celebrating Father’s Day on June 21 with a Sunday Supper full of classic favorites.

The cafe will be open for brunch and lunch too, of course. If dad is more of a morning person, bring him in for a plate of brioche French toast and coffee, or later, for a BLT! The pastry case will also have some treats: cookies in the shapes of ties, bowties, and mustaches, golf-themed vanilla cupcakes, and fishing-themed chocolate cupcakes. Grab some treats for dad—they’ll be available from Friday through Sunday.

As for dinner, here’s the menu for the family-style meal:

Bread & Garden Herb Butter
Wedge Salad
with Bibb lettuce, bacon, tomatoes, and blue cheese

Pot Roast
with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and asparagus

Cherry Pie
with house-made ice cream

Sunday Suppers are a multi-course dinner served family-style. Cost is $40/person. Wine and beer is available off the menu.

Start time is 6pm and reservations are highly recommended, as the dinners fill up fast. Please call the cafe at 206.328.3155 book online at www.alwaysfreshgoodness.com.

Located among the elegant homes of Seattle’s North Capitol Hill, Volunteer Park Cafe (VPC) is the quintessential neighborhood-meeting place. With mismatched vintage chairs, throw pillows tossed along banquets, and a communal table running the length of the inviting sunlit room – it’s the perfect place to spend time. The food is delicious home-style goodness, house made pastries, savory and sweet, and a selection of fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches provide daytime provisions ordered from friendly faces behind the counter. As the light dims and the candles are lit, table service begins and guests cozy in for rustic pizzas and ever-changing seasonal offerings like Braised Beef Brisket with Creamy Polenta and Greens, Pan Seared Halibut, or the heavenly Pot Pie. VPC offers a generous selection of boutique wines by the glass and bottles of wine can be enjoyed at the cafe or taken to go. VPC is open Tuesday – Friday from 7am – 4:30pm, weekends from 8am – 4:30pm, and dinner is served Tuesday – Saturday from5:30pm – 9pm.
