Dumb Starbucks Shut Down by Health Inspectors

“Dumb Starbucks Coffee” was shut down after just a few days on Monday by Los Angeles County health inspectors, who posted a “notice of closure.” The brainchild behind the “art gallery” was none other than comedian, Nathan Fielder from Comedy Central show “Nathan For You” who recently went on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to talk about his new business venture, Dumb Starbucks.

The store managed to survive for a short while thanks to parody law, the health department shut it down for selling coffee without a health permit. “What they don’t understand is, technically, legally speaking, we’re an art gallery, and the coffee we’re selling is considered the art, and art galleries don’t need health permits,” Fielder said.
Whether if it was a publicity stunt or not, it caught the attention of the real Starbucks rather quickly.
