A New Ethan Stowell Restaurant

SEATTLE, March 2, 2017 — Ethan and Angela Stowell are excited to announce their newest project: Derby, which will be located within The Shop, a new car club opening this spring at 2233 6th Avenue South in Seattle’s SoDo district.

The Shop is an innovative new concept from Seattle native Matt Bell: it’s a 36,500-square-foot warehouse that’s being transformed into a state of the art car club. There will be indoor storage, repair bays, car and motorcycle repair experts, detailing services, classes, and valet service, as well as meeting rooms and lounge spaces. The restaurant, which is open to the public, will be open daily from 11am to 11pm offering lunch, happy hour, and dinner, plus weekend brunch.

Derby will have 15 seats at the bar, with room for another 58 in the dining room and 20 in a comfortable lounge area. The dining room is adjacent to the car storage space, which means diners will have a front seat view of a bevy of luxury and classic cars. Reclaimed Boeing shipping containers will become wood paneling in the bar, along with corrugated metal. The floors are finished concrete and the ceilings are the original fir.

The menu will be full of American classics, like a BLT, a Cobb salad, and a burger. There will also be seafood dishes—oysters, crudos, and the like—as well as a handful of pastas and entrees. The wine list will be predominantly sourced from the Northwest, with a small selection of Old World wines. There will be a full bar with a bourbon and scotch-leaning cocktail list.
